Volunteer Opportunities

The Adams County Museum is a nonprofit and relies on its dedicated volunteers to keep the nine-building complex operating. Our funding mainly comes from the Scientific & Cultural Facilities District (SCFD) and our annual fundraisers, which would not be possible without volunteers.

Volunteers help staff the museum as docents during cultural events, such as Heritage Day, the 4-H Trunk ’r’ Treat Festival, Christmas Past & Present, and various car shows. Volunteers make goodies and serve them during our annual Easter and Christmas Teas. Volunteers become educational guides during our school tours. Volunteers become door admission collectors for our four craft shows each year, which are our biggest fundraisers.

We also have volunteers who come in weekly to help with yardwork, maintenance, cleaning, and guiding tours.

Volunteers are the heart and soul of this musuem and we’re always looking for new faces to help keep this wonderful museum up and running.
