
Conoco Dispenser Oil Pump
This type of dispenser was commonly found and used in gas stations and garages for dispensing motor oil. This particular dispenser appears to dispense a paraffin-based germ process motor heavy oil, which paraffin-based refers to Paraffin wax which is a white or colorless soft solid that melts at relatively low temperatures, That is derived from crude oil. This pump was mostly used to refill motor oil bottles, which can hold approximately 30 gallons of oil, selling at 35 cents. There is a lid to pour the oil into the container of the pump, with a handle on the side to manually pump the oil out of the container. This particular pump used Conoco oil, however Sinclair, Texco, and BP, all used this type of pump around the 1930s.
