Dietz Little Wizard Oil Lantern

On display is Dietz Little Wizard Oil Lantern, a “cold blast" (meaning that only fresh, cold air was fed to the flame) style kerosene lantern. The "Little Wizard" model is characterized by its short globe and standard side lift for accessing the burner. The #1 Large Fount Little Wizard was originally introduced as the "Little Giant" in 1926. After the Dietz factory relocated to Hong Kong in 1956, the Little Giant was redesigned and became known as the #1 Little Wizard. This lamp typically uses kerosene or lamp oil and can hold enough fuel for up to 45 hours of illumination. This lamp was popular for various uses, including indoor lighting, patio use, camping, being used on ships, or in railyards. Modern versions of this particular lamp are still being produced to this day.
